About the border
2019
Photographic prints 20 x 30 cm, sewing thread
The work is the natural completion of the two diptychs that compose "For an erratic geography of clouds (or of the nomadic right of living beings)" and illustrates the irrationality of dividing the earth into portions in a series of surreal images.
Together the two artworks think about one of the most monumental - though immaterial - work carried out by men: boundaries, an arbitrary division of space. These definitions are not permanent, they undergo changes over time. They look like ephemeral embroideries on the Earth’s surface, but they have absolute power and they are undeniable. Sometimes they follow the Earth’s conformation, others are established by those who hold the dominant power. Now they are more or less osmotic barriers depending on who is the subject that crosses them.
